As we all are aware, all farmers have to face problems of disease and pests in various crops grown in their fields and orchards. These problems have a co-relation with weather and can be area-specific as well. In conventional farming, extensive research has been done on all such problems and a wide variety of chemical pesticides and fungicides are available in the market. It is a challenging task to provide solutions to farmers for all such problems in the organic domain, i.e. to effectively control diseases and pests using organic inputs only.

Apart from disease and pest control, plant nutrition in form of fertilizers and growth promoters is another major area of concern for the farmer. Plant nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium are readily available in chemical fertilizers. On the other hand, an organic farmer has to fall back on cow dung manure, jeev amrit and ghan jeev amrit for cultivation. Even though these inputs are rich in organic matter, the percentage of plant nutrients (by weight) is very less as compared to chemical fertilizers.

In order to address both of the above mentioned concerns, we have worked tirelessly year after year to either formulate or purchase organic inputs for our farmers. These formulations and solutions were based on the knowledge which we had acquired from a number of sources. We also compared organic practices from country to country. With the help of our farmers, we had to carry out extensive experiments to check efficacy of organic inputs by evaluating the results and learning from our mistakes.

The journey has been arduous and challenging, but, by God’s grace, today we are in a position to support our farmers in all spheres of organic farming.
